Refinishing.....finished

I've been having a love obsession with craft blogs, decorating blogs and anything-to-do-with making-fun-things-blogs lately. There are many blogs I check daily, one of my favorite being All Things Thrifty which I'm sure many of you like minded crafty folk are plenty familiar with. I've seen too many projects done by super women crafters that I thought it was about time I give it a go. Inspired is what I was...hoping to just come across something wonderful that would be begging for a new life. Knowing I would need a new dresser for my little one on the way I began my search. Fellow Craigslisters will know that when you start searching it becomes addicting until you find just the thing and also the challenge to beat everyone to it.

Well this is the beauty that I came across the FIRST time I looked on Craigslist. It was perfect in every way and I could see it's makeover in my head immediately....called on it before 9:00am and was off to pick it up right away. $35.00 for a solid wood perfect condition dresser....SCORE!!!

I couldn't wait to get my hands on it...who knew that a primer, paint and a little glaze could be so trasforming. The result was just what I wanted. What made it even better is how much Mike loved it!

I have since put the rest of the hardware back on and it looks perfect. It was the funnest project I've ever done and WAY makes me want to do something else...after all I have tons of glaze left over ;) I'd better not waste it.

I have a dresser with this similar look, and everyone who sees it asks me where I got it. My great-grandpa made it a LONG time ago, and the mirror attached even has that antique feel because it IS an antique. haha

You did a fantastic job, April!
