Happy Dance

The utter thrill of just recieving a letter in the mail is exciting for Isaiah but to open it with money from Grandma was beyond thrilling...this was his EXACT face and he got up and did a happy dance that I'm sure you are sad you missed...if only I had known this great reaction! Maybe I'll send it through the mail again ;)

He is nuts about his money. He counts and recounts every time he even gets a quarter.

Back in business

After 8 long years my poor computer died. It was a good computer (sniff sniff) Up until the end it gave its all until it took it's last breath and left me a computer widow. Luckily there are newer better models that are very fun to figure out...I hope that's not what they say about me when I die ;)

Thanks to a brother who knows all there is to know on the subject we are back up and running (although running is nothing I've taken up just in case you were concerned)

We had a jam packed summer of fun and I have loads of pictures to prove it...I'm just not sure you are interested in them ALL. I'm sure there are well over two hundred. Enjoy.

First things first......We're just a tad bit excited!

Okay now that that's taken care of you can enjoy some random fun pics from our summer of vacation, the beach, camping and LOTS of swimming.

I vow to you to update my blog to my hearts content until you are pictured out. My goal is at least weekly although there are no guarantees :)

My graduate.

This could possibly be the most surreal moment in my mothering years. My oldest son graduating kindergarten in the same lunch room of the elementary I went to...16 years ago. It still smells the same! I miss the peanut butter bars...yum-o! Something he will get to experience next year. I may join him for lunch some day...okay getting OFF the food kick.

Doesn't he look so official??

The benefits of having Grandma live only a block away...she gets to come to everything...and Grandmas give good graduation gifts!

I am so proud of this little guy! He amazes me with everything he does and his littleness is disappearing much too quickly.

Now the dilema...what to do to keep his mind engaged through the summer so he keeps all his smarts??

Derby...

Mike is the Cub Scout Master in our ward. He wanted Isaiah to have a car to race. I'm still trying to figure out who was more excited about the whole thing. Mike cut it out. Mike took it to Las Vegas for work for the week and came home with a transformed block of wood that he had spent hours sanding...I must say I was totally impressed with his sweet skills. Isaiah did get to go weigh the thing and pick the color of paint.

Here is the master at work widdling away at his work bench.....AKA MY KITCHEN TABLE!

Proud racer of the blessed thing....

In slot numero uno...

This was my first derby...with many more to come I'm sure. The racetrack was totally high tech. Everything was electronic. Why did I suspect any different? I guess I pictured a big wooden track. I'm thinking old school I guess.

The winning car broke every record with a crazy fast 2.9 seconds!! Isaiah came in 5th overall. He was stoked about the whole thing anyway.

Boys weekend

Last weekend was a boys weekend out. I was completely alone. In my own house. Weird. Many times I am alone with my boys at home or by myself away somewhere else but to be at your own house with no one needing you is quite heavenly...in short amounts of time. I had to play for a wedding and had some really fun projects with my girls...which I'm almost done with and am excited to show...but until then...

Friday night they had Father's and Son's. Joshua is finally old enough to go. Isaiah was counting down until the day came. He said he had a blast!

Trying to catch fish with his bare hands...wasn't very successful.

The first thing Joshua told me was that it was "Willy Willy Code"

Saturday night was the Monster Truck Show. I didn't go so the pictures are all you get....

The boy's favorite part was a jet car that melted a beater car with fire out its back. Terrified at first but loved it after.

Fun to have a weekend to myself...happy to have everyone back home.

little fireman

Has it really been over a month since I posted ANYTHING?? Okay I give...I've had company 5 out of the last 8 weeks and two weekends I was out of town. Laundry, gymnastics, baseball, baseball practice; I see how a mom can get busy really quickly. So it's not like nothing is happening...everything is and I have finally made time to download pictures.

Isaiah had a fieldtrip to the fire station and I had Joshua come along this time. They both loved riding on the bus and getting dressed up in a real firemans gear. My real dad was a fireman so this was neat for me to experience with the boys.

My family: Doesn't this guy look exactally like Ryan?? Even Ryan thought so...

My sister Summer...her daughter Hallie and Isaiah have the same teacher. Thus we are really lucky and get to go do things like this together.

Things like this are my favorite things to do with my boys. Their eyes light up and it's facinating to watch them experience things like this for the first time.

Sewing 101

**Update...Give a day Get a day at Disney has just ended...they reached their million volunteers. I hope everyone got to do it that wanted to.

I'm sure you've all heard about the Disney's Give a day Get a day (http://disneyparks.com/ )
We too are participating. What a great idea on their part and what a great incentive to give service. We decided to make blankets for Project Linus. They distribute them out to children who are sick in hospitals. I love to sew and I know how much my boys love their own blankets. It was the perfect service project for us!

Isaiah made an easy tied fleece blanket.

Mike even did all the sewing himself...how domesticated.

I was excited to make something girly...
having boys can give you the 'BLUES'

My sister Summer and her cute fruity blanket. We'll all be going on vacation together.

Her husband Brett. I was so impressed with the guys doing their own.

Their daughter chose dolphins...she did an awesome job. Did EVERYTHING herself.

We wish we knew who our blankets will go to but the kids loved doing it and they're so excited. I'm excited to take they boys to Disneyland for their first time this year.
