The North Pole

Christmas in May...sounds crazy. They have this Santas workshop at the North Pole open from May until Christmas Eve. It is its own little village of toy shops, candle making and ferris wheel, tilt a whirl and all sorts of other carnival rides. The elves are in charge of the rides and are decked out 'elf' shoes and all. We didn't know what time they closed so only got to be there for an hour which was not even close to enough time so they gave us tickets to come back but this is what we got to do.

This is where Santa lives. He's really in there. I guess theres not much fo him to do in May.

You can even mail him your letter

This is a slide that is three flights of stairs to the top.

Funny Skit

We are having a reunion in a few weeks and they want us to do a talent of some kind so I was looking for something and found this it's pretty funny. Don't think I could pull it off though. If anybody has something you've done at a reunion that was fun let me know...

Most mornings Isaiah is up just before I am and he usually just watches cartoons until I get up and make breakfast. Well today he comes in my room surprised saying Come here I made you something...close your eyes...keep closing your eyes. Then he lead us to the kitchen. He had poured a bowl of cereal for all of us including Joshua. He even poured the milk himself without spilling much. He kept hugging me and saying things like Happy Special Day Mom! or Happy Breakfast Day Mom!! I guess when you have a husband that does things like this all the time it starts rubbing off on the little guys. He sure does treat me well and if it's true that a boy treats their wife like they treated their mother then someone will be a lucky girl because he is learning from the pro....

Another day of FuN!!

This week we headed up to Denver for our first Pro Baseball game. We got some super cheap tickets and almost everyone that's here working with us decided to come. What a fun thing. Isaiah of course the baseball junkie that he is loved it--well most of it, they can be long.

The boys loved the roar of the huge crowd. When they would hit a home run the crowd went crazy and they would both put their hands in the air and scream and Joshua would squeal 'Wooooo' and then giggle.

You can just see the excitement on his face...He was pretty into it. He even made us bring his mit just in case he had to catch a ball..

My little Rockies...they have a little growing to do

Then we saw this Aquarium off the freeway and it looked neat so we decided to try it out. I thought it would be this little exhibit that you go through pretty quickly and for the money would have rather done something else. I totally called this one wrong. I can no longer underestimate things in big cities. (I guess I'm used to little things in little towns, wonder why) So to give you the right idea.....They had a million gallon shark tank!!! Jellyfish, tree frogs, rattlesnakes, and so many fish I couldn't even name maybe three species that I'd actually heard of. Even pictures don't quite do it justice.

Just one of many beautiful fish tanks. My head would have probably been just under that orange fish...

Okay... this was an actual flash flood. When we heard the water the first time we were around the corner and couldn't see what was happening and the sound of the water gushing was a little disturbing...Isaiah kept saying "Mom I'm kinda freakin out" Then on the speaker you would hear "Flash flood warning to anyone standing near..." We had to see what this was all about so Mike the fearless went first. When he saw the water he ran...c'mon it's just a little water ;)

This was such a realistic animatronic Orangatang and it turns it's head, blinks it's eyes and even grunts. It was off for a second and I told Isaiah that it fake then he turned totally panicked and said "But Mom it just moved and its looking right at me." After that there was no convincing him that it wasn't real.

This picture didn't turn out like I'd hoped. But this inside the Tropical Rainforest area and it was my favorite part I think. The smell in there was the freshest of the freshest smells you've ever smelt. I wish I could have captured

We are standing in a tunnel tank where the fish and sharks and Sea turtles swim above you. Which this pic doen't show very well but there are better ones below.

Looking at this now I'm thinking...What mother puts her babies head inside the mouth of a shark??? I guess it was just for pictures sake...which as you can tell he didn't appreciate.

They have a restaurant that you can dine while watching the aquarium and to finish off the whole experience we headed there. What a neat and may I say Yummy place. I was daring and tried flounder and it was so so tasty. But being the dessert girl that I am...I usually look at the dessert menu first...I had to have dessert at such a fishtastic(wow I'm creative) place. And just let me tell you that it was DELECTIBLE if there ever was such. Just looking at it I knew it would be blog-worthy.

Little Curly

Something that I just love about Joshua is his curly hair. Mike had to totally convince me to let it grow out because when it's past the ears it just looks stragly to me but I guess it's different when it's curly. what a lucky boy and I hope it always stays. I just hope my girls are that lucky. These pics are right out of the tub with a little towell dry and Voila!!! Just call him Curly...and yes we do...

Bug Museum

If you have seen the old Morgan Pest control bug collection before--I think we went there for a field trip in sixth grade-- this was even crazier. As you can see they had a gigantic collection of terantulas I really think they had over 100 at least. And any other odd looking creature that roams this planet, mostly South America where luckily I don't think I'll ever travel.
They also had stuffed bats and every single kind of butterfly, beetle, cockroach, and wierd stick looking insect imaginable. Isaiah thought is was pretty cool but he has a thing with spiders too...wonder where he got that?? So he wouldn't look too closely at those. I must say there are some seriously odd looking creatures living among us.

I fully admit it...

I am a total bachelor geek. Another season comes around and I think why do I watch this show?? Especially after last season-- but I watch the first show just to see who's on and who this guy seems to be. Then it's halfway through and the girls are fighting and it get's ridiculous but I'm still watching...(this sounds really pathetic) Before I know it it's the finale and by now I just have to see who he chooses. What an adorable proposal...I really hope they will add to the few couples that are still together.

If any of you saw Oprah yesterday, you may have been as floored as me...I'm someone that is extremely impressed when I see amazing musical talent. This girl has got a huge voice and she will be so successful I'm sure--well of course, she was just on the Oprah show. Who isn't successful after they've been on Oprah...I need to get on there doin my hip hop hula hoop or something...Ü

A Day of Tears and Celebration

Yesterday morning Mike called me in tears...and told me that they had found one of their technicians unconsious in his bed. They immediately started CPR and called emergency, and gave him a blessing. They were not able to revive him and he passed away. This young man was a returned missionary who everyone enjoyed being with and seemed to be a great person. When I heard the news my heart sunk for his mother. Especially so close to Mother's Day. I could never imagine losing one of my boys. I am glad to be reminded of how quickly something can happen and that I need to make the most of every day that I have. Everyone was pretty shaken up as you could imagine. So they ended up taking the day off which NEVER happens. So we decided to make the most of the day with our family and some of our friends.

We went to a place called Mr. Biggs that was absolutely incredible. In a huge building that is decked out for family fun... they had bowling, miniature golf, bumper cars, go karts, an arcade, laser tag, inflateable bounce houses, a Carosel, restaraunts, and what's called little big town. It was a city for kids that had a doctors office, fire dept. beauty salon, dressup area, pirate ships that had a jungle gym you could climb up and launch balls at each other and so much more and they could ride little trikes around the whold thing. It's really not possible to explain so I took lots of pictures. It was insane!! Needless to say...we had an absolute BLAST!!!

And at the arcade I saw the Deal of No Deal game it's tradition for me to play when I see this game and I ended up winning the jackpot!!!

My little hero

This picture of Isaiah was taken a while back and it fits perfectly......

This morning I was picking up the floor and went to stand up and smacked my head right on the very corner edge of the counter and I screamed out in pain. Isaiah came running down the hall to see what was wrong. There I was holding my head with my eyes clinched tight trying to hold in the tears. Meanwhile I hear Isaiah on the phone to Mike saying "Mom got hurt it's 'a mergency' by now I can't stop the tear faucet and Isaiah handed me the phone and in tears I told him that I was okay. Next thing I know Mike's home...he was in a meeting but just at his office which is only a street away. I guess it scared him enough to come check on me. He IS the sweetest man on the planet. Isaiah grabbed my pillow and a blanket for me and took the couch cushions off the couch and told me to lay down then he got me a drink of cold water and a toy that sang a song and told me that he would cheer me up. I was so proud of Isaiah though if it would have been a real emergency he would have been my hero...man what a smart little boy and how reassuring it is that what I have been teaching him is really getting through.
I hit so hard I swore there was blood gushing, man it hurt. Now I'm sporting a pretty awesome goose egg. Yowsers!!

A little later Isaiah asked me if he did the right thing calling dad when I get hurt... I told him how proud of him I was for getting help for me. (even though I maybe would have been okay without it I'll let my boys pamper me any day)

Does anyone remember...?

We got cable hooked up a couple of days ago and they through in the HBO package free. As I got looking through all of the free movies there were so many old movies that I totally remember watching during my childhood and haven't seen since. Last night we watch Ghost Dad with Bill Cosby...I loved that movie when I was younger, and watching it now it was a little cheesy but none the less it brings good memories. After watching I got thinking about so many other movies that I absolutely have to find and watch again. Here are a few of my favs...

My B-Day

For My birthday MIke took me golfing at Green Springs. My first time and he says I did awesome...he only finished a few strokes ahead of me. My brothers all play so it must be in my blood. It was really fun and I got to drive the golf cart ;) Then we came back and had a BBQ...kind of a birthday/going away party.
