We're Alive!!!

We are still alive I promise. We have just STILL yet to get the internet hooked up and thought we would do it the same week we got home from Colorado but have been cutting expenses and internet (as addicted as I am) was one thing to cut. So that leaves me to blog on someone else's computer which really isn't possible. Well at least with pictures and all that. I miss it terribly and have done so many fun things I want to blog about. Like today a friend took me and Isaiah horseback riding and we had sooo much fun. Halloween came and went with no documentation on my blog. Joshua turned 2 and Isaiah 5 this last week and we had some awesome cake and parties. I had and ER visit dealing with stomach pain that turned into ulcers.....just to name a few things that have happened....so is life. I'll try to keep updated and possibly sneak camera phone pictures on now and again.

Good bye Colorado

So it is finally time for us to go home. Mike did such an awesome job. He even scored top first year sales rep. I'm so proud of him. We have loved it here more than we thought we would and have made the best friends I've ever had. I am definitely going to miss living here and it's hard to leave just as it was starting to feel

We leave bright and early in the morning so wish us happy travels back to good ol' hot Santa Clara. We'll be happy to be home.

Ice Skating

Isaiah had earned a free pass for a library reading program that he did all summer and has been super excited to finally get to go.
Can you believe they have skates this small? They were adorable!

He was not the least bit intimidated by the ice and only stayed on the wall for a few minutes then it was off to fly around the rink...only a few bum bruises to be had. He even came out very proud and said "Mom, I didn't even break my head."

Can't turn your back on them for a second!

stained glass

Have any of you ever made stained glass? My friend Katie told me she loved to do it and suggested I try it. I thought that it would be a unique gift for my Grandma. She's going to be a young 80 this year and we'll be celebrating with her in a couple weeks. Anyway Grandma loves doves so Katie came up with this design and she let me pick the glass. I love crafting of any kind so this was right up my ally and I must say I am totally stoked how it turned out. And being that I am prone to cut myself on any non-sharp surface I thought working with glass would be a bloody nightmare but I am quite proud to say that I didn't even get a nick. That's a first!!

Have you ever soldered anything??? I'm definitely no expert at that.

The finished product....isn't it beautiful? Thanks Katie!!

Boys will be boys...

Isaiah has wanted nothing more than to go back to Santa Clara so he could play with his friends. Just this past week or so he has met some adorable boys that are a few apartments up from us and they seem to play everyday at least once. So now he doesn't want to go home because he'll miss his friends here.
The sprinklers right outside come on at 6:15pm and this particular night they were playing outside when they came on and ripped their shirts off and jumped right in and when these went off they went and found more to run through.

Remembering...

All of these babies around me are making me wonder where mine went.

Here is my 'not so baby anymore' Joshua when he was still a baby to me...

Here are some of Isaiah as a baby....

Man I love these boys more than I could have ever known!!!!

The real thing

I get much too daring when I go get my hair done. As you remember it was just a week ago I cut six inches off and it just wasn't drastic enough for me. I was needing a serious and fun change so thanks the best friend ever....My hair now looks like this.....Now let me say that I hesitated even posting a picture because the pictures do not do it justice. It really is cuter in person so to don't judge too harshly.

This was taken before the color was put on...

value of a penny

That's right a penny to ride on two horses at once...half of a penny each boy?? SWEET!!

How long has it been since you bought anything for a penny??? I remember when we would ride bikes to the gas station and fill up a whole bag with candy and pay nothing more than a dollar. At Albertsons at the customer service desk all of the candy was 10 cents and at Maceys grocery store ice cream cones were also only 10 cents. It was only a few years ago the Arctic Circle's cones were only a quarter.

Tooth Ache

A few days ago Isaiah was complaining that his one of his teeth were hurting him and I just figured that it was his first good old fashioned tooth ache. Well last night that idea proved to be the wrong thinking as he kept waking up crying and was not awake enough to say he was hurting and only until morning half in tears did he tell me that he was up all night because his tooth was hurting so bad. So I looked in his mouth and I could see his tooth was chipped pretty badly so I got on the phone to schedule an exam and luckily they could fit us in within the next hour. The dentist took alook at it and said they would need to extract it. It had started as a cavity and had grown so much it chipped off and then got infected. Yowsers. I felt so bad that I hadn't known earlier. They said that the dentist we had previously seen should have caught it and didn't. What do you do.....

I had to stay out with Joshua so he was actually in there all by himself and they said he didn't even squirm. I just came to peek in on him and of couse had to get a picture. He was just excited that he got to watch 'Cars' on the ceiling above.

So he lost his first tooth and was pretty stoked about the tooth fairy coming that night and was so concerned that the little fairy was not going to be able to lift his heavy tooth. I assured him that the tooth fairy is pretty strong. I didn't know the tooth fairy was so small ;)

Dancing Fairy

You know how little kids are when they get together...it usually comes down to dress ups in some measure. This time it was Isaiah's turn to be the dancer so without hesitation he gets all dressed up for the dance performance they were excited to have. They wanted to do it with music and all. So they went upstairs to practice and I walked up stairs and I couldn't help but chuckle...there they were twirling like little fairies with music of the tabernacle choir to accompany them....our friends are living with their in-laws for the time and their father happens to be the stake president (Bruce R. McConkie's son actually)....so the music was very appropriate.

As soon as Mike came home last night I had to show him and I thought he'd get a kick out of it and as you can imagine--like many fathers would be-- he was less than thrilled to see his son in a princess dress.

giggle giggle

You know when your kids start laughing at you for no reason and it's the heartiest chuckle ever? This cracked me up. He bonked his head on the wall and I said "Bonk" and it set him of to giggle land...I wish I could have gotten a video. *

new hair do

What do ya think??

Okay okay I was playing on a virtual hair makeover site...I've been debating whether to chop my hair or not and I wanted to see what I'd look like before the scissors touched my hair.
I guess I got a little carried away....

This is the real before...last minute so the hair was dripping wet.

After It doesn't look like much I know but she cut over six inches off.

I'm almost sure I will go shorter. I just need a more drastic change so we'll see how long this one lasts.

keepin them busy

These are some of the projects that we have been doing since it has been constantly raining for three days straight and we've been cooped up with no outside time.
All of these ideas I have seen on some kids crafts websites so I can take no credit.
The first day it rained we saw a rainbow and reminded me I had seen this idea...

Stuck in the house all day I had to figure out a way to get them outside for a few minutes to myself. So I stuck them outside out on the patio on a huge beach towell and each of them a bowl of uncooked rice and pasta with hidden gummy bears as a surprise. Their Digging tools included measuring cups and plastic spoons. This did get kind of out of control but it did give me the break I needed. They liked the gummy bears.

We get the Nick Jr. magazine and these little bugs were a card matching game and he had fun with them and then I decided to cut a giant letter B for Bug and let him glue them on. He just loves anything he can glue so that was really fun and of course he wanted to put it on the fridge and show dad when he got home.

This is one they really loved. For instructions copy & paste this into your web browser http://www.notimeforflashcards.com/2008/08/naptime-creations-vroom-vroom.html

From the advertising dept.

Isaiah is a walking advertisement. I hadn't really noticed until almost everyday this week was something else he would say I needed. The other day we were doing the routine shopping at Walmart and he says "Mom, I'm starving I want to go to Subway so we can 'Eat Fresh' I laughed pretty hard at that one...then this morning when we sat down for breakfast he asks..."Who is that mom?"(pointing to the syrup) before I could answer he said "Oh that Mrs. Butter from the gecko commercial."
We were on a walk the other day and he noticed some potted plants beside a door we had passed and said "Mom, they should probably get aqua globes for their plants huh?" Quickly he asked where did your flowers go? (Mike had gotten me roses for our anniversary) and I told him I had thrown them away because they died. Then he says "Mom, they probably wouldn't have died if you would have gotten Aqua Globes..." I thought he was going to tell me that I could buy 4 of them for $14.95 and that they're good for hanging plants, potted plants, exotic plants and that I had to be 18 or older to call....seriously he's 4 years old. How does he pick up on this stuff? Hilarious!!
